ment of a new government board charged with invigorating the sector is another boost, with the Dubai Events and Promotion Establishment (DEPE) bringing to the table a team of professionals from both the private and public sectors and experienced in tourism promotion and event organisation. With Dubai Inc firing on all engines, the
continuing expansion of airline access has given a further stimulus to event organisa- tion in the emirate, with new routes from flydubai and Emirates opening up poten- tial in previously under-served markets. “The surge in reported attendance from
the BRIC, European and CIS economies while maintaining traditionally high Middle East and North African representation substan- tiates the growing confidence in Dubai’s ability to create value as an international gateway for the region,” stated Almarri. “Dubai has an inherent geographical
