Message Well everyone, it’s Fair time

in Florida! As we enter the Fall season many Fairs are going to be kicking off soon and we wish

everyone across the state a wonderful Fair for 2012/13. Everyone at all of the Fairs does a tremendous job celebrating their county and Florida’s great agricultural heritage. With all of the hard work everyone has put in they are sure to be a tremendous success! Please take time this Fall to visit other Fairs in your area. In July, the Florida Federation of Fairs Sum-

mer Workshop was well attended with about 90 folks and 19 Fairs represented. It was a real pleasure hosting the event in Manatee County and, on behalf of the Federation, again I would like to thank Mr. Dan Molter and the Manatee County Fair Board of Directors for their hospi- tality. The 2012 Fair Tour took place September 28 through October 2nd and the group was able to visit three Fairs including the Big E in Spring- field, Massachusetts, the Fryeburg Fair in Frye- burg, Maine and the Topsfield Fair in Topsfield, Massachusetts. Everyone enjoyed the time and the folks from the visited Fairs treated us as royalty. This trip this year included Lynann Hudson from the Florida State Fair, David Viers and Thom Giordano from the Volusia County Fair, Rhonda Ward and Laura Holland with the Collier County Fair, Lisa Hinton and Dan and Tracy West. If you get a chance to go on the tour next year please do so. It is well worth the time!
