Greetings to members of the Florida Federation of Fairs and Livestock Shows!
Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of the Florida Fed- eration of Fairs and Livestock Shows’ newsletter!
It’s hard to believe we’re at the time of year when the IAFE Con- vention is sooner rather than
later! Finding New Ways is the theme for this year’s na- tional convention in Las Vega, November 25-29. I look for- ward to seeing you at the convention and remind you to attend the Zone II Meeting set for 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26… make note of this new time scheduled for the zone meeting.
Of importance at the Zone II meeting in Las Vegas will be the election of new Zone II director. Please submit all nomi- nations for consideration to the Nominating Committee:

from the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition and Hank Luton from the Salem Fair in Salem, VA. Both YPI’s have been awarded scholarships up to $1000.00 that was made available by Zone II as part of the Young Professional Insti- tute (YPI) Scholarship Program. Ismael is the competitive exhibits manager at his Fair, while Hank is box office su- pervisor in Virginia. Please join me in congratulating Is- mael and Hank for being Zone II’s YPI Scholarship Pro- gram recipients!
As we lead up to the IAFE Convention, please help our zone and the IAFE in its membership drive. “Make the Connection.” to recruit new members into the IAFE! Nancy Smith, CFE, from South Carolina State Fair, serving as Zone II membership chair, said The Gift of Travel will be awarded by sponsor Coca Cola. To qualify for the drawing, simply recruit one new member and complete the Official Registry Form and provide the IAFE office with some pro- spective leads.
Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your associa- tion’s newsletter. This will be my last one with you as Zone II Director … it has been a pleasure to work with each and every one of you over the past three years! We’ll have lots to discuss and review at our Zone II meeting in Las Vegas, and I look forward to seeing you! Until then, have a Happy Thanksgiving!
