―Sew It, Grow It & Show It At The Fair‖ The busy season has
arrived. The youth Live- stock projects registrations have begun. We have several events
scheduled for our grounds. The Walker Brothers Cir- cus will be here Sunday
October 7, 2012 for two shows. Bull Pen Pullers Tractor Pull on October 20, 2012. The Citrus Stampede PRCA Rodeo will be here November 16 & 17, 2012. Stock car racing is every Saturday night through November 10, 2012. Swine Camp will be held November 3rd and Cattle Camp Janu-
ary 18-20. Horse Showmanship will again be included at the Fair. The 14th Annual Truck & Tractor Pull sponsored by the Fair will
be January 25 & 26, 2013. This exciting event provides Scholar- ships for our Citrus County Youth. Come join for the week-end, we have plenty of camping spaces and they can be reserved in advance. The 2013 Citrus County Fair will be March 25-30, 2013. The
entertainment lineup will include; Washboard Willie, Scott’s Crazy Magic Show, Wade Henry, Kachunga the Alligator Show, Karaoke, Baby Pageants and a host of local entertain- ment. The livestock shows will be ongoing all week. Belle City Amusements will provide an exciting midway for our patrons with specials all week. We invite everyone to come and enjoy all the events. Hope to
see ya’ll! Oh, and our Flea Market is open every Friday & Saturday.
STATE FAIR EMPLOYEE— DENNIS MCDERMOTT RECEIVES AWARD
Dennis McDermott, the Florida State Fair Authority’s Director of
Event Services has received the Third Annual National Celebrate Services Day Award for Excellent Service. With 37 years in the event services industry, Dennis has been part of hundreds of event production teams for festivals, trade shows, and even re- ceived commendations recently from an RNC customer for his outstanding service. The Event Services Professionals Association (ESPA) cele-
brated the awards ceremony on September 20, 2012. The ESPA, Tampa Bay and Company, and the Tampa Convention Center hosted this event at the Sail Pavilion on Tampa’s Riverwalk down- town. Awardees were recognized for possessing positive atti- tudes, professionalism, and excellent customer service skills. ―Details don’t slip by him and his tireless efforts inspire others
to strive for higher standards,‖ said Charles Pesano, Executive Director of the Florida State Fair Authority. ―I am truly honored to be on Dennis’ team.‖ The Florida State Fairgrounds is located in Tampa, Florida. In
addition to holding the annual Florida State Fair, February 7-18, 2013, the Fairgrounds hosts a wide variety of other events throughout the year. The fairgrounds cover over 330 acres, with many different types of buildings. The mission of the Florida State Fair Authority is to create positive entertainment experiences through a commitment to agriculture, education, and community service.
