REMEMBERING THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY………………………………………………. Henry John Ebershoff II


May 6, 1945-June 21, 2012 Henry Ebershoff, 67, died after a


brave battle with throat cancer. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana. After graduating from Purdue, where he was active in sports and voted into the Silver Anniversary Indiana Bas- ketball Hall of Fame Team, he joined the family company and went on to be President/Owner of Lafayette Tent and Awning Company. Henry put his heart and soul into his company. He aided in the mentoring of thousands of young men by teaching them that ―there is no substitution for hard work.‖ He was a mem- ber of many trade organizations in Indiana as well as IAFE and the Florida Federation of Fairs. He wintered in the Florida Keys. He is survived by his wife Lana, three sons, two step-sons, and seven grandchildren. His guest book is available at

William ―Charlie‖ Padgett June 29, 1946-July 6, 2012


F.J. Collura Charlie Paddgett, 66, of Green Cove


Springs, was a Superintendent at the Clay County Fair. A native of Clay County he had retired from the Army National Guard and worked as a salesman for Townley Manufacturing. He was an avid Gator fan and loved NASCAR, hunting, fishing, and his motorcycle He is survived by his wife Annette, one son, one grandson, as well as sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Pedro A. Placeres June 6, 1961-July 6, 2012


Pedro, 51, of Naples, passed away suddenly and peacefully. He was a dedicated em- ployee of Xerox Corporation for over 25 years and also served as a committed mem- ber of the Collier County Fair Board. He will be remembered as a one of a kind man who


was always willinig to lend a hand to anyone in need. He is sur- vived by his wife Olga, one son, one daughter, his parents Pedro D. and Esther Placeres, as well as a half brother, several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Kathy Lynn Brown November 23, 1969—July 15, 2012 Kathy Lynn Brown, 42, of Naples, Florida; beloved wife of 20


years to Charles Brown; loving mother to Travis, Justin, and Jenna; oldest daughter of Richard and Carol Goode; loyal sister to


28 May 19, 1945-August 10, 2012 F.J., 67, a lifelong resident of Dade City. He retired from the


Pasco County Sheriff’s Department after many years of service and heading up the Crime Prevention Unit. He was a committed and proud member of the community, serving on multiple boards including: Pasco County Fair Association. Bernardo Vargas September 15, 2012


Bernardo Vargas Garcia, 66, affection- ately known as ―Papo‖ to all who came in contact with him. Papo worked for the Volusia County Fair for over 30 years, most of that time while living on property in his camper. He was a hard worker throughout the year and ran the Livestock Barn during the Annual Fair. Papo will be greatly missed by all.

She was a volunteer at the Collier County Fair where a fund was set up called ―Life’s Not Fair,‖ a charity established by the Collier County Fair Board to help people who are faced with circum- stances similar to those that Kathy and her family faced prior to her untimely departure. Donnie Ray Hamrick July 29, 1939—August 7, 2012


Donnie was born in Vero Beach and lived in Fort Pierce his entire life. He worked in the citrus industry for 22 years and then for Saint Lucie County Road and Bridge for 12 years before retiring. He was a member of the Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge and volun- teered for the Saint Lucie County Fair As- sociation. Survivors include two sons, a daughter, and six grandchildren. Memorial
