barperson of the year
sponsored by Peter Brown Linlithgow Bowling Club
Peter is a larger than life character who understands the importance of engaging with and being known to local customers. He also enjoys the faith of club members, who have supported his decisions to change suppliers and bring in new staff.
Peter’s strategy has turned the club into a venue which members and non- members choose to attend all year round. Customer safety is paramount under Peter’s watch, with gold awards from the Best Bar None Scheme received in 2010 and 2011.

Alec Trousdale The Queen’s Arms, Edinburgh
Alec impressed the judges with his knowledge and commitment to keeping up with new trends and brands. Believing that “knowledge is key” when it comes to succeeding in the trade, Alec harnesses his wealth of knowledge, experience, trade press and social media to run a fi rst rate front of house and back offi ce operation. He works closely with suppliers to grow his team’s product knowledge, which staff use to ‘up sell’ products and offer excellent customer service.
