The River House Restaurant Stirling

Making families feel welcome, relaxed and valued is fundamental to the approach at the River House. Special efforts are made to keep children entertained – and ease the burden on parents – with crayons, colouring books, puzzles and DVDs, all available in a dedicated area. A junior menu has also been devised to cater for children of all ages, from fussy three year olds to young teenagers, with all meals cooked from scratch and from fresh ingredients.

Waterside Bistro Haddington

With an idyllic riverside setting and classic village pub ambience, it’s no surprise that families are naturally drawn to Haddington’s Waterside Bistro. This year has seen the owners expand the new children’s menu, complete with no salt commitment and organic ingredients, and establish the venue’s reputation for kids’ parties, where face painting is a popular part of the entertainment. The Waterside’s packed toy cupboard remains popular with the young ones.

WEST Glasgow

A simple philosophy guided the owner of WEST at its inception – to create a venue where parents could eat, drink and relax with the kids… and the family pooch. Based on the German bier halle concept, WEST prides itself on providing honest, wholesome, tasty food at great value prices, while giving kids the freedom to play – whether inside its spacious interior or outside in its grassy beer garden. When it comes to food, kids are welcome to order half portions of everything on the ‘grown ups’ menu.
