whisky bar of the year

sponsored by

Bon Accord Glasgow

The Bon Accord has carefully built its whisky range over the years to its current world-class status. But it’s about much more than range. The judges were very impressed by several aspects of this leading whisky bar, especially its interaction with customers – it now has two active whisky clubs and holds a wide range of whisky tastings, visits and events. Also very impressive was its use of social media and other methods to publicise and promote its whisky activities.

Fiddler’s Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness

The award-winning whisky venue certainly isn’t resting on its laurels. Fiddler’s has a fascinating range of whisky including special selections used in its whisky clubs or “parliaments”. The business shows a very strong commitment to training, including the use of basic and more advanced courses and visits to local distilleries. Display is excellent and in keeping with the nature of the outlet, and there’s imaginative use of whisky with food, especially desserts.
