Bond No 9 has built a reputation as a great spirits venue over a number of years. There’s a carefully developed cocktail list, signifi cant ranges of rum and gin, a developing whisky list and a good selection of absinthes, eaux de vie and
liqueurs. The judges were especially impressed by its strong commitment to having full-time staff trained to a high standard, and the work being carried out to develop ranges, knowledge and presentation of products in many spirits categories.
Treacle Edinburgh
The team behind Stockbridge’s Hamilton’s Bar and Kitchen took on and modernised this bar in Edinburgh’s bohemian Broughton Street in 2009 – and spirits have been at the heart of the offer since. The bar has some of the city’s best award- winning bartenders on the roster, and the cocktail list features classics and some highly imaginative new recipes, including winning serves from competitions. The bar also offers a range of sharing cocktails, mixed and bottled in house.
