Join us on this classic cycle journey through the cities and rural landscapes of Vietnam and Cambodia. We travel past paddy fields and fruit orchards to remote villages where we experience the warm hospitality of local families. We cycle into the jungle to explore the ancient temple city Angkor and swap our bicycles for traditional boats to cruise the mighty Mekong River.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Talk a walk around the former capital Saigon. Day 3 Cu Chi Tunnels Take a ride through the countryside to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels – an underground base for 10,000 Viet Cong troops during the war. Days 4/7 Delta explorations Enjoy rides in the Mekong Delta region. Cruise on a sampan (flat- bottomed boat) along narrow channels to floating markets and stilt villages. Enjoy traditional cuisine with local families. Days 8/9 Phnom Penh Travel by speedboat along the Mekong River into Cambodia and on to the capital. Visit the main sights including the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the ‘Killing Fields’. Ride to a charming island in the Mekong. Days 10/11 The ‘Kompongs’ Cycle along the river to Cambodia’s third

Route and Terrain: The cycling element of this holiday covers roughly 269 km over nine days (average 30 km perday). Our route mainly follows quiet and flat back-roads and paths, 70% tarmac 30% gravel and dirt tracks. A support vehicle will accompany the rides. We have graded the route as easy.
