CYCle the CApe!
Cycle with us through South Africa’s Western Cape Province. We pedal along the rugged coastline of Cape Point and through the forested shorelines of the ‘Garden Route’. In Stellenbosch Valley we ride through vineyards and enjoy a glass of the local wine. Along the way we explore the dripstone caverns of Cango Caves and visit Boulders Beach – home to a colony of African Penguins.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Overnight flight to Cape Town. Days 2/3 Cape Town Cycle along the lower slopes of Table Mountain. Visit Boulders Beach – famous for its colony of African Penguins. Day 4 Cape Winelands Ride through vineyards and sample the local wine in Stellenbosch valley. Days 5/6 Oudtshoorn and the Karoo Pedal through Red Stone Hills at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains. Visit the dripstone caverns of Cango Caves and cycle over Swartberg Pass. Days 7/8 Garden Route Pedal along the trails of Harkerville National Forest. Visit Tsitsikamma National Park. Ride across the Bloukrans and Nature’s Valley Passes. Days 9/10 Swellendam and Cape Agulhas Cycle through farmland to Malgas Pont, stopping at Knysna Elephant Park. Explore Cape Agulhas – Africa’s southernmost point. Day 11 Hermanus Search for whales off the coast (July to December). Return to Cape Town. Overnight flight to the UK.

Route and Terrain: On this tour we cycle 285 km over nine days (an average of 31 km per day). We cycle on minor roads and good tracks. There is a support vehicle throughout. We have graded the route as moderate.
