The shortlist has been announced for the 2012 Civic Trust Awards. Fifty-two projects from a wide range of 306 national and international ventures have made the cut. The Civic Trust awards


scheme was established in 1959 to recognise the very best in architecture, urban design, planning, landscape, public realm and public art. Successful projects are recognised for making an outstanding contribution to the quality and appearance of the built environment and must be universally inclusive for all users, whilst offering a positive social,


cultural, environmental or economic benefit to the local community. All schemes featured on the


shortlist of winners will receive an award, commendation or community recognition at the 2012 Awards Ceremony, that will take place on Friday March 2nd, 2012 at The Hub in Edinburgh. Amongst the 2012 finalists are

Thames airport considered
