The Alamaro model design recalls the typical lacing and grommets of uniforms, featuring two buttons connected by a loop cord. The front side of the handle – where the frog figure is designed – features a flat and very neat shape, while the back side is rounded and the handgrip end is almost spherical. These characteristics give it an elegant and light appearance, making it easy to use and pleasant to touch. Alamaro is a registered model available also for the new type of rosette, Ultra Slim Innovation, a round or square rosette just 3mm thick containing the return spring. Top marks for storage lockers
As part of a £6million refurbishment at St Catherine’s School, Twickenham, which involved the construction of a new sixth form block and teaching rooms, Link Lockers worked alongside the school’s architects to ensure its hard-wearing storage solutions were not just a functional after-thought. The architect’s recommended to the school positioning the lockers along the corridors and public walkways so as to make a striking design feature out of them. To achieve the desired effect, St Catherine’s chose Solid Grade Laminate 2-door lockers finished in a contrasting three-way colour scheme comprising aqua blue, aqua marine and powder blue. The high specification and quality of the Solid Grade Laminate lockers was a crucial factor for the St Catherine’s project. An innovative new sustainable drainage system, Hydro Filterra, was launched in 2011 by Hydro International to introduce the pioneering principles of bioretention and biofiltration to the UK’s highways and car parks in an attractive, compact and predictable technology. Hydro Filterra is a SUDS-compliant drainage unit, which harnesses natural biological and chemical processes to combine stormwater control with treatment of pollutants and sediments, ideal for both retrofitting and new developments. From the surface, the Hydro Filterra system looks like a tree box with suitable plants or a tree protruding through a decorative grating in a typical concrete slab at pavement level. Stormwater runoff is channelled through a kerbside inlet into a concrete container underneath filled with a mulch, plant and soil filter medium. Underneath the pavement, the Hydro Filterra system comprises a concrete container with a 75 mm mulch layer, 500-750 mm of unique soil filter medium, an observation/clean out pipe and an under drain system, which is connected to the surface water drain, infiltration or soakaway system. Treated water can also be diverted into additional storage / infiltration systems using geocellular structures such as Hydro’s Stormcell or the Stormbloc systems.
