PRODUCT INNOVATIONS

A revolution in commercial heating

New from Remeha Commercial is the super condensing Quinta Eco Plus, a revolutionary commercial heating and hot water system that delivers outstanding energy efficiencies and significant carbon and financial savings in an affordable, replicable solution. The Quinta Eco Plus consists of the market-leading Remeha Quinta Pro commercial condensing boiler and the Eco Plus, a Passive Flue Gas Heat Recovery Device developed by Remeha and Zenex Technologies. The Eco Plus recovers waste energy equivalent to around 15 percent of the gross input, passing it back into the heating system, to radiators, UFH or DHW. The Quinta Eco Plus achieves maximum condensing at all times, offering a new level of attainable efficiency of 97 percent GVC at 82/71°C for buildings. The Quinta Eco Plus is pre-plumbed and configured within a rigid mobile frame for ease of installation. With its compact, modular design, it meets the individual requirements of existing and new buildings. For more information telephone 0118 978 3434 or visit www.remeha.co.uk

Thermally

efficient daylighting An increasing number of public and private sector architects working in colder regions, such as Scotland and beyond on daylighting projects, are using Kalwall with Lumira aerogel insulation (previously called Nanogel). Recent Kalwall + Lumira aerogel projects in Scotland, supplied and fixed by SD Systems, include a sports hall at Aberdeen Grammar School, the Rainbow nursery for childcare, a student dining-room extension at Turriff Academy and refurbishment of the swimming-pool at

Andrew Carnegie leisure centre. Further away, and one of the most extreme examples, is the remote Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. Lumira aerogel, claims to be the world’s lightest and best insulating solid. It dramatically increases thermal insulation with U values as low as 0.28W/m2K. Used within the Kalwall translucent cladding and rooflighting system, it means that architects and designers can now create large areas of daylighting in walls and roofs, which can be as energy efficient as an insulated solid wall. For more information telephone 020 8660 7667 or visit www.stoakes.co.uk
