Overview Sweden is governed by state owned companies. Svenska Spel is the state run gaming operator in Sweden which has a net market share of 51 per cent. It operates gaming and lotteries, VLTs and Casinos. ATG runs the horse racing and has 20 per cent of the gaming market, NGO games and lotteries has 17 per cent whilst foreign online companies have 10 per cent share and private restaurant casinos have one per cent. Svenska operates the VLT brand Vegas which operates with a stake of SEK5 and payout of SEK500. The sector saw net gaming revenues of SEK2m – 21 per cent of Svenska’s total revenue. Svenska also operates four casinos under the brand Casino Cosmopol - Casino Sundsvall has 146 slots and 15 tables; Casino Malmoe has 244 slots and 32 tables; Casino Gothenburg has 333 slots and 42 tables and Casino Stockholm has 379 slots and 36 tables. Casinos net gaming revenues was SEK1.2m whilst Svenska’s gaming and lottery industry’s net gaming revenue amount to SEK6.3m. Svenska contributed SEK4.7m to the Swedish state last year. The company’s GGR was SEK21.7m whilst the total net gaming revenue amounted to SEK9.6m.
