Ganges Village offers great boutique shopping featuring arts, clothing, souvenirs, jewelry, kitchen gadgets, unique “made on Salt Spring” craſts and gourmet food items. Include a visit to Mouat’s, a locally owned mercantile that has been operating for over 100 years in the same location! Visit


their hardware store, Mouat’s Clothing Co. with its unique collection of products, and Old Salty, “the place” for greetings and giſts. Tucked away off the boardwalk, just steps from the government wharf and float plane dock in the ‘Seaside at Mouat’s’ complex, is Pegasus Gallery. Established in 1972, the gallery specializes in investment quality Canadian art and Northwest Coast First Nations’ art. Visitors to the gallery are oſten surprised to see major works of art by important artists such as Lawren Harris, AY Jackson or AJ Casson -


from the Group of Seven - hanging alongside other more affordable art. There is an entire room devoted to native art, and the gallery always has a fine selection of argillite totems, baskets and carvings. Ian Sigvaldason and his staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about art, working with collectors to build treasured and highly personal collections. leasing, appraisals, storage and shipping solutions. With all the fresh home-


grown ingredients to pick from, it’s not surprising that Salt Spring restaurants are well known for their great food. Take some time at Auntie Pesto’s Café to sit and watch the tide change while you enjoy one of their Chef’s inspired creations! This is a good spot for a glass of wine on the deck while the sun goes down over a view that is constantly inspiring and ever-changing. The pesto pasta is incredible, and it is a pretty safe bet that you would never find a more perfect fillet steak than right here! The Chef is amazing! For years, boaters to the area have been taking the opportunity to


buy provisions at Thriſty Foods which is just a few short steps from the harbour.
