the original proprietor’s grandson, Steve Demopoulos. Another long-serving marine facility is Lovric’s Sea Craſt with marine ways and dry dock. These folks know about boat maintenance and can handle haul-outs up to 150 feet!
Since 1979, Cap Sante Marine has proven to be the #1 choice among Northwest boaters for yacht service and boat repair. They now have two on-the-water locations in Anacortes to better serve boaters - in Fidalgo Bay and the new Skyline Marina location. Cap Sante Marine has built a reputation in the Pacific Northwest and San Juan Islands as one of the best resources for OEM and aſtermarket replacement parts, from anchors to zincs. They stock and ship thousands of parts for all types of outboard motors, diesel engines, drive systems, etc. Downtown Anacortes offers specialty shops, antique stores and art galleries. There are over 90 murals on downtown buildings portraying Anacortes’ pioneers and historical scenes. Dining in Anacortes is an experience with everything from quick lunches to fantastic evening meals offered in unique restaurants. Quaint bed and breakfasts, inns, motels such as the popular Anaco Bay Inn as well as waterfront RV parks offer an array of accommodation options. Several major events mark the island community’s
annual activities calendar. Celebrating its 23rd year in 2012, the Anacortes Waterfront Festival combines the charm of an arts-and-craſts fair with live musical entertainment, a great food court, and a variety of family events. The festival celebrates Anacortes’ long marine heritage and includes a community “big-top tent”. The 2012 Waterfront Festival will be held June 2-3 and admission is free. The annual three-day Anacortes Arts Festival, August 3-5, presents a celebration of all things creative, filling 10 blocks of downtown Anacortes with working artists, performers, musicians and hundreds of vendors selling food, and fine arts and craſts. The Fourth of July and holiday parades add to the small- town feel that pervades this special port community where everyone is welcome.
