UNITED STATES
will love the Seattle Aquarium, located on Pier 59 and the Seattle Art Museum (SAM).
Aſter sampling Seattle’s best activities, take some time to relax. Put your feet up, enjoy a fresh mug of coffee and watch the sunset paint the Seattle skyline brilliant orange and vibrant red. We think you will agree: Seattle offers boaters a distinctively satisfying blend of surprises. Although the main boating season is May through September, you can go boating year-round. Seattle is oſten referred to as the “boating capital of America” and it is little wonder. With abundant first-class visitors’ moorage, some of it right downtown, there’s every good reason to cruise to the Emerald City to find out what makes it so special. For visiting boaters there are a number of marinas to choose from with Shilshole Bay Marina, Elliott Bay Marina and Bell Harbor Marina are some of the better known facilities for transient moorage. The well-known Seattle Boat Show is BIG. In fact, it’s the third largest boat show in North America. The 10-day event, held towards the end of January of every year, features more than 1,000 recreational watercraſt, seminars and the latest accessories indoors at Qwest Field Event Center, plus a floating boat show on South Lake Union. They offer a convenient free shuttle service running continuously between the two venues. The on-water venue is located at Chandler’s Cove on South Lake Union near the Silver Cloud Inn, which has been providing great accommodation for boaters for many years. The complimentary breakfast provides a good start to a day of exploring, and with the heart of the downtown district just two miles away it’s an easy day. They even provide a free area shuttle service! Most of the guestrooms have spectacular waterfront views of Lake Union and the marina is just across the street.
