The
Port of Edmonds traditionally kicks off the boating season with the Waterfront Festival, on the first weekend following Memorial Day. This year’s festival will be held June 1st – June 3rd. Another of many great events held here is the popular Coho Derby (September 8, 2012) which makes for a fun day for both local and visiting anglers.

I had an opportunity while visiting to take in one of the Rick Steves’ travel shows, a highly acclaimed local tour operator of television fame, at the stunning 1920s Art Deco movie theatre. Restaurants, cafes and bistros offer a delicious dining experience, and the beachfront eateries equipped with outdoor tables provide scenic views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and the magnificent sunsets. Every Saturday from May to October, the colourful marketplace spills into the downtown streets.
