A HUGE PERCENTAGE OF WORLD TRADE IS CARRIED BY SEA, requiring a large number of ships and a pool of well- trained individuals to man these ships. Washington and British Columbia are proving to be a great source of such talent, but there has also been a recreational boat building revival and a renewed interest in people wanting to know the intricacies of building and maintaining wooden boats. Once again, Washington and British Columbia are leading the way, with a number of technical schools focusing on the skills that students are seeking to learn.
