THE CHALLENGE


Educators want the services and resources provided by cultural organizations, but their ability to pay for them has significantly declined. In theatre, the need is even more urgent because of the glaring lack of theatre programming within schools. Just 117 licensed fulltime theatre teachers serve a student population of 1.2 million in 1,200 schools; this compares with 1,247 visual arts teachers, 945 music teachers and 185 dance teachers.


OUR SOLUTION


Education@Roundabout forms dynamic school partnerships created to ensure that students on the fringes have quality arts access, even as the program’s budget gap between earned income and expenses continues to widen.
