Professional Development opportunities enhance an educator's ability to use theatre as an effective teaching tool across all disciplines. Roundabout’s innovative Theatrical Teaching Framework utilizes basic theatrical elements such as theme, plot, spectacle and character and establishes parallels to educational components such as academic content, lesson plan structure, classroom setting and teaching demeanor.

EDUCATION@ROUNDABOUT’S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
■ Year-round, customized workshops for educators to stimulate their own intellect while practicing theatre activities in the context of academic learning standards.
■ Annual 6-day Theatrical Teaching Institute (TTI), an intensive introduction to the Theatrical Teaching Framework.
■ Align with the Children First core principles and the teacher competencies from the Framework for Teaching.
RTC Teaching Artist Leese Walker advises a participant during TTI.
DURING THE 2010/11 SCHOOL YEAR: ■ 1,463 hours of Professional Development were completed by 337 educators and Teaching Artists. ■ 291 hours of training were completed by Roundabout Teaching Artists.
