Product launches A roundup of some of the most innovative and exciting launches this month


In order to move into the pre-mixed can sector currently dominated by spirit-based drinks, Accolade Wines have introduced a Spritz range under its Echo Falls brand. Echo Falls Spritz is a blend of fine wine and sparkling water containing one unit of alcohol (4 per cent alc. by volume) and only 120 calories per 250ml can. Aimed at female consumers, the product is available in two varieties – White Zinfandel Rosé and Pinot Grigio, and is offered in both single serve 250ml cans and multipacks. The range initially rolls out in Nisa and independents.


After 107 years, the iconic Lyons’ coffee range has gone for a brand new angle. The manufacturer has released a range of Coffee Bags, a first for the instant drink market, meaning, just like tea, that a cup of coffee


can be made from a simple bag in a cup. The range has three variants: Good Morning, Coffee Break and Gourmet Italian. The range is aimed at a convenience format and is to be found in most convenience stores.


Symington’s has teamed up with Bradford-based crisp brand Seabrook to launch a new snacking concept known as ‘the Bread Crisp’, a range that the manufacturer believes will a), shake up the snacking sector, and b), offer something completely different for sharing occasions. Seabrook Bread Crisps, which have been on shelf since autumn, are made from finely sliced pieces of bread and come in four flavours: Sweet Chilli, Tangy Barbeque, Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar and Cheddar Cheese & Red Onion. They are sold in 100g tubes and are available in Morrisons, selling at an RRP of £1.69.


Claiming to be the first brand to be ‘perfectly portioned’, Tasty Little Numbers, which comprises both snack & meal ranges, comes in whole numbers of calories, such as 100 or 200 calorie servings. Products include white, dark & milk chocolate bars, corn chips, chilli con carne and mushroom stroganoff. Tasty Little Numbers has gained national retail listings in over 500 One Stop stores, Amazon.co.uk and leading national foodservice wholesalers.
