DocuWare app on smartphones saves time and money

By Stefan Schindler, director of DocuWare Ltd. N

o matter what branch of business you are in – a smartphone can always save you time and therefore cost. It wasn’t so long ago that using a

pager or payphone, or even travelling back to the office to check faxes or emails was a daily reality – even though by today’s standards the whole regime seems like a highly inefficient use of valuable work time. Now, with smartphone technology, we can save weeks, even months of communication efforts.

With regard to document management, DocuWare use on a smartphone also allows users to work more efficiently. For example, document storage and retrieval can be conveniently divided into steps in order to make the whole process easy, fast and convenient ‘on the go’. DocuWare already offers apps for Apple's iPhone and iPad. By the end of 2011 there will also be DocuWare applications available for smartphones with the Android OS and Windows Mobile 7.

Way of life

Today, smartphones are a way of life, and there is no doubt that in the near future they will become even easier and more convenient to use; for example, phones that let users access any data anytime – even, as recently announced, during air flights.

order before despatch and delivery. Without a smartphone or mobile Internet, the person might need, for example, to accept the information given during a phone conversation with complete trust, or return to the office in order to confirm that an order specification is correct.

Mission-critical

These types of mission-critical situations are the reason why DocuWare offers its DocuWare App for iphone, and will soon offer DocuWare for Android and Windows applications too. DocuWare recognises that this level of user convenience is necessary to ensure that all DocuWare customers can access their documents from their smartphone wherever they are. And, after all, in today’s high-tech mobile world, this is what customers expect as a given.

At the yearly DocuWare Partner Conference, DocuWare president, Juergen Biffar, commented: “The company continues to drive the development of web-based products for document management, especially, mobile clients to ensure growth into the future.” This is our commitment to our customers and our vision going forward. 
