AHWI gets a boost

A strategic alliance with Prinoth has strengthened AHWI and paved the way for joint product innovations in the forestry sector, according to at least one half of the joint venture, AHWI

Prinoth, for the global expansion of biomass solutions and the sustainable and economically efficient processing of forest and agricultural land. This move makes AHWI the global competence centre for biomass production and vegetation management within the PRINOTH group and allows it to continue the expansion of its existing business sectors. “We aim to remain pioneers in the industry for a long time to come,” Artur Willibald, Founder and Chief Executive of AHWI- Maschinenbau said. “Our products will continue to be developed and produced in Herdwangen. As a new member of the Prinoth family, we will continue to convince our customers with state-of-the-art technology and optimum quality.” The products of the two companies complement each other perfectly. While AHWI has a complete range of mulching equipment and the associated carrier vehicles, Prinoth can

HWI has formed a strategic alliance with South Tyrolean producer of snow- grooming and tracked utility vehicles,

expand this selection with its Beaver, a track- driven mulcher, and a complete spectrum of carrier vehicles for the transport of the harvested biomass. Prinoth thus expands its portfolio, rounding off its two existing business sectors, snow-groomers and tracked carriers, with the addition of a further key division – vegetation and biomass management. For AHWI, too, there are decisive advantages.

“The strategic alliance with Prinoth brings us a step further along our path to becoming an international solutions provider,” Willibald stated. “And the first jointly developed products will be seen at the Agritechnica fair in autumn (November 15-19 in Hanover).” There, AHWI and Prinoth will present, for example, the self- propelled biomass harvester Kangaroo with high dumping container. In the field of biomass production, AHWI is working on the optimisation of the chipper aggregates.

The focus is on boosting efficiency and ease of maintenance and the reduction of wear and operating costs, while maintaining the high

reliability of its products. In addition to the optimisation of the product

portfolio, the alliance offers synergy effects on all levels. For example, the strategic partnership gives AHWI access to an outstanding sales and service network as well as to a global production and supplier network. The path is clear for joint product innovations in the forestry sector. Werner Amort, President of Prinoth, stated:

“With biomass, Prinoth has established a foothold in the field of renewable energies, thus making an important contribution to the sustainable and environmentally friendly supply of energy throughout the world. We stand to profit greatly from AHWI's competence in the areas of forestry and environmental technology.” Prinoth and AHWI will have their public debut

as strategic partners at the Agritechnica, where together, they will present new and innovative solutions for the fields of biomass and vegetation management. IFI
