TYRES & CHAINS
Maximum traction
Traction is, as always, the major priority for providers of forestry tyres and chains
B
ABAC Specialty Chains says wide flotation tyre applications that operate in
unique terrains often times require special chains. This is why BABAC has introduced the Double Multi Ring and Forestry Protection tyre chains. BABAC Double Multi Ring
delivers increased traction in deep mud and snow, while providing the operator a smooth ride with the close distance between rings. They are available in both 16 mm and 19 mm tag chain options. “BABAC double multi rings will get you there and back,” the supplier stated.
Meanwhile, BABAC Forestry
Protection chains will protect expensive forestry tyres in rock, ledge, and other conditions where extra protection is necessary. The chians will still provide for increased traction with the innovative U Form stud that stays upright rather than laying down once in contact with the ground. Forestry Protection chains are available in both 16 mm and 19 mm tag chain options and both
come with the BABAC chain tensioning system. All BABAC chains are manufactured with 10B21 Boron alloy steel and hardened for uniform wear resistance and strength.
Bridgestone has two leading tyres that between them can be applied to almost every forestry application. The Forestry CRC (LS-2) is designed specifically for logging service. Main features: • 23° tread bars are 25% deeper at centre and up to 42% thicker than regular agricultural tyres, to give longer wear and greater protection against cuts, snags, and tears
• Multiple steel cord belts under the tread for exceptional resistance to punctures, cuts, and impacts
• Nylon cord body for protection against impacts and resistance to moisture
• Thick sidewall and tread rubber for resistance to cuts, snags, tears and impacts
• Heavy duty bead-and-rim

protector helps prevent debris from lodging between rim and bead
• Upgraded to keep pace with the rigors of high hp/high capacity logging equipment in such areas as rim to tyre slip resistance; tread separation resistance; and stick penetration resistance
• The standard of the logging industry.
Meanwhile, the Forestry TL (HF-1) for forwarders and harvesters has: • 23° tread bar angle for excellent traction
