PRIME MOVERS AND MULCHERS The Seppi Mini-BMS multi-purpose mulcher

output shaft (prime movers must therefore be of higher overall power). The Star-FC hyd is a multi-purpose stump grinder, soil tiller, wood chipper with 70-300 hp of power and working widths of 600 mm, 750 mm, and 1 m. It’s also available also in a mechanical version for tractors.
The Miniforst skid-steer is a universal
forestry mulcher for skid-steer mounting with 47-100 hp available in working widths of 1.5 m, 1.75 m, and 2 m. The Midiforst skid-steer is slightly more powerful at 80-120 hp and is excellent for mulching brush in Australia. Available working widths are 1.5 m, 1.75 m, 2 m. Both these light universal forestry mulchers are available in mechanical versions for tractor mounting.
The Multiforst multi-purpose mulcher is desgined as a soil tiller, stone crusher and wood chipper and Seppi describes it as an “exceptional innovation”. It works at two speeds with an adjustable gearbox – 540 rpm is used for stones and soil; 1000 rpm for wood. It has a working depth of 250 mm (10 inch) or more and working widths of 2 m, 2.25 m, and 2.5 m.
The Mini-BMS is an excavator mounted
forestry mulcher for medium carriers from 5-10 t and is the lightest mulcher of its type on the market due to a “light construction principle”. The rotor is available with fixed knives or swinging hammers and the machine is suitable for clearing underwood, clearing the terrain after harvesting wood or maintaining road sides in forests. The mulcher can also be mounted on special forestry vehicles provided with a crane. Working widths are 850 mm, 1.05 m, and 1.25 m.
Machines Forestière Fethos’ V350 LGP is a powerful mid-sized tractor on steel tracks, making it ideal for high production in tight or

machines in its class. Its weight, only 11.8 t for its 350 hp allows a really low ground pressure that can be used even in wet field conditions. Powered by a Cummins engine combined with Sauer Danfoss hydraulic components and operating at 5,500 psi, the V350 LGP is incredibly efficient. The hydraulic system can produce 140 g/m in high flow and the AKG cooling package will perform in the worst environments with a minimum of maintenance. The traction with oversize planetary gives a pull to weight ratio of 1.5 allowing the V350 LGP to climb slopes of 45°.
