Renhomen to deliver dry sorting system to Setra mill
S
enholmen has been entrusted to deliver an almost complete dry sorter plant to Setra
Group’s sawmill in Skinnskatteberg, Västmanland, Sweden. The order includes the innovative Triple Stacker, the first type of stacker with a capacity of over 30 outlays/ minute. The dry sorter is planned to be ready to start production in late summer 2012. “Setra is one of the clients we
have been privileged to work with on different occasions”, Renholmen’s Sales Manager, Bernt- Ove Andersson, said. “Obviously, we are very pleased that in the fierce international competition, our company is considered to have the most appropriate technology for this effort.” The delivery to Skinnskatteberg includes a new sorting line up to the bin section, including camera sorting and Renholmen’s optimised cutting system, along
with the Triple Stacker. “This is the first Triple Stacker
to reach the market after the one we built and delivered to Martinson Sawmill in Bygdsiljum, north of Sweden, backl in 2009. It is a product we very much believe in which provides the additional capacity that is often required in today’s production. The fact that Skinnskatteberg chose to go for it, as part of the investment, is obviously inspiring.” Renholmens delivery is planned to take place in two stages with installation starting early next year. The new dry sorter will replace the old one, also built by Renholmen back in the early 1980s. In parallel with the installation, until summer and pairing with the existing bin section, full production will be running. Setra Group’s Jerker Nyström explained there were certain
factors behind the choice of Renholmen: “After analysing various market alternatives, we came to the conclusion that Renholmen’s dry sorting equipment best suits our facility. The goal is obviously to increase capacity and enhance competitiveness through leaps in technology. We have good experiences from previous collaborations with Renholmen, and have great confidence in the solution we chose to go with.” According to Nyström,
Renholmen’s delivery is both conceptually and functionally interesting. “Two good examples are the
Triple Stacker and the improved trimmer, which makes it possible
for us to take the next leap in terms of both capacity and optimised production. This particular investment is part of a larger effort that has been going on since the beginning of the new millennium, with the purpose of modernising and increasing the unit profitability.” For Renholmen, the deal with
Setra Skinnskatteberg means maintained high occupancy and ranks as a perfect sequel to recent deliveries to Holmen Timber in Norrköping, Sweden, Latvian Vika Wood and the rebuild of the dry sorter in Kåge, a sawmill owned by the Swedish company Norra Skogsägarna.
