Zero - Space-Time Hemma @ SGLD


Designers took over the Swedish Ambas- sador’s Residence to stage Sweden Does Design London - showcasing the Scandinavians’ knack for creating beautiful object. Hemma – the Swedish for ‘home’ – had a handpicked selection of Sweden’s finest. This included Karim Rashid’s Space–Time pendant for Zero, and the impossible balancing-act of the table lamp in the Fragile Collection by Maria Johansson and Lina Huring. www.zero.se www.linahuring.com www.mariajohansson.nu


Tom Dixon - Bulb Multiplex @ The Dock


The Dock is fast becoming a hub for companies engaged in design and in- novation and for LDF it played host to Multiplex, an open house event featuring installations, exhibitions and workshops. It also provided founding resident Tom Dixon to launch Bulb, an energy efficient oversized light bulb designed in reaction to the phasing out of the incandescent bulb and the unat- tractive aesthetic of most CFL replace- ments. Bulb can be used individually or as part of one of three new steel chandelier frames. www.tomdixon.net


Moooi - Heracleum Multiplex @ The Dock


Over the canal in the White Building – Moooi’s London Showroom – the decora- tive designers presented Mermaids, an exhibition of photographic works from creative director Marcel Wanders de- picting an underwater kingdom, decked with Moooi’s finest. The showroom too was transformed into a sunken world thanks to aquatic projections from events specialist Creatmosphere. Prod- ucts on show included Miyake by Arihiro Miyake, Raimond by Raimond Puts and Heracleum by Bertjan Pot (pictured). www.moooi.com
