HARVESTER HEADS

environmental aspects.” Regardless of the logging mission, there is a Komatsu harvesting head up to the task, according to the leading international supplier. Komatsu harvesting heads range from the smooth thinning specialist, to highly flexible heads, to high power units. All Komatsu harvesting heads

are based on basic designs that have been repeatedly modified and refined over the years in line with customer feedback. The Komatsu 365 is an example

of a highly productive, and reliable harvesting head. The Komatsu 365 offers the optimal combination of strength, flexibility, and reliability. The head has a well-balanced frame that helps ensure a high net lifting force for the prime mover, especially when working with a long reach. It has high traction and firm trunk grip. Three sturdy feed rollers keep the trunk in place while four feed roller motors with differential locks ensure that the feed receives maximum power at the right time. An extra large tilt

angle also helps speed up the feed and thereby heightens production. What's more, it also makes work in steep terrain much

easier.

Another all-round harvesting head is the Komatsu 350.1 that has an optimal relationship between strength and low weight. The Komatsu 350.1 has become well-established in all markets due to the high productivity and easy serviceability. “With a perfect combination of strength, speed, and weight it can handle both thinning and final logging,” the manufacturer said. The Komatsu 340 combines low

weight, smart design, and compact size with high performance. These qualities make this an effective head for demanding thinning in dense forests. The head is designed to maintain a continuously high production rate. As such it has a compact hydraulic valve for a minimum of hosing, and all hose connections feature solid protection. Both Komatsu 340 and Komatsu 350.1 have multi-tree accumulator as an option. A multi-tree accumulator makes thinning faster and more efficient, especially in dense stands. Handling up to three trunks at a time, this robust yet nimble accumulator is easily controlled by the operator. The multi-tree function enables the operator to fell and accumulate two or more trees with the head before processing begins. When the function is activated, after felling, the tree remains in the grip of the head, in the tilted-up position. The head then opens again to grip one or more trees before processing begins. The Komatsu 360.2 is a

harvester head that’s been in the range for a long time. With its robust design and refined technology, it is a harvester head that increases productivity for both final felling and thinning. Komatsu 370.2 is designed for heavy work in dense and rough forest. It’s the obvious choice for
