WHAT ARE SUPER SINGLE TYRES? Tyre which allows replacing dual-tyre configurations on trucks and buses with single-tyre configurations is generally called a super single tyre. It is also known as wide base tyre. Bridgestone's GREATEC (Great Technology) allows wide base tyre with an ultralow aspect ratio which replaces the need for two tyres at the back of a trailer.


WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF USING A SUPER SINGLE TYRE? There are four main benefits to using super singles. The tyres are more efficient as there is reduced rolling resistance, meaning vehicles use less fuel. The aggregate weight of the super single tyre is also less than two normal tyres, again improving efficiency. From an environmental point of view, less rubber is used in the manufacture, and from a practical point of view, it is much easier in maintenance than dual tires.
