6. BEAD SEPARATION May appear as cracking. Any separation between the components in the bead area or the ply turn up. Cause: This type of separation is generally the result of under infl ation / overloading, improper mounting / dismounting procedures, improper bead seating or rim width.

7. BULGE IN SHOULDER AREA Small, localised, often circular, raised or indented pocket on the shoulder area. Cause: Impact damage.

COMMON PREVENTIVE MEASURES:

• Healthy driving habits (avoid rush / speeding on turns)

• • Maintain proper pressure Avoid overloading

12. RUSTED BELT AND CUT CHIP Starting with many small cuts, the tread rubber fl akes off in small pieces, severe chipping can also result in belt exposure leading to rusted belts. Causes: Severe road conditions, improper tyre specifi cation for application, improper infl ation pressure or overload conditions, abrasive road surface or driver abuse.
