wake up in the morning. Messed up hair, no cosmetics and dressed in a t-shirt! Suffice to say that it’s enough to scare young children and small animals.

I then have a picture of all of my cosmetics, a picture of a book and then a picture of someone working. Lastly I have a picture of myself as I’m ready to walk out the door when the transformation is complete.

Back to our equation.

Undesirable present circumstance (just woken up) leads to motivation to take action (desire to look bet- ter)

about them and what do you not? Draw a line down the centre of a piece of paper and list ‘LIKES’ on one side and ‘DISLIKES’ on the other. This is a really so- bering exercise, but an amazingly helpful one as you embark on your journey.

You get to look at the ‘Likes’ side with a renewed sense of gratitude and appreciation. It’s a great way of reminding yourself of all that works for you and is good in your life. You also get to look at the ‘Dislikes’ through the eyes of hope. Hope that they will be able to be discarded, accepted or shifted to the ‘Likes’ side of the page by using something like the formula above.

Now that you know what you’d like changed and what’s to stay the same, you can set about finding the TOOLS you’ll need in order to get going. Tools like books, audio, magazines, journals, products, advice, workshops and mentoring to name but a few. If you look hard enough, you’ll find everything you need.

Next step is to gather KNOWLEDGE. Make sure that the tools you’ve gathered deal directly with what you want changed and then read, listen and learn. The knowledge of how to use the tools properly will greatly enhance their effectiveness, and your progress.

Finally, you have to put in the EFFORT to use the tools according to the knowledge you’ve gained.

When I share this concept with others I always use a really practical example.

I take a picture of my head and shoulders when I first

Tools (cosmetics) + Knowledge (books) + Effort (work) = Desired Result (ready to walk out the door)

Exactly the same process can be used on our list of ‘Dislikes’

Take them one at a time and use the Tools you’ve gathered according to the Knowledge you’ve gained and keep on applying Effort, until you achieve your Desired Result! Voila!

I have used this equation on my own life for years and I can testify to the fact that it works! My Dislikes’ have now been whittled away to a few remaining ones. There are some that I still know I need to get rid of, but you know what - some of them I’ve grown to love. I’m much happier with me than I have ever been before and that, to me, is… The Power of Transformation

Go girl - you can do it! ■
