Art fans set to flock to Seaview Art Gallery in celebration of their third birthday
ACCLAIMED artist Jeremy Houghton is set to make his eagerly anticipated debut on the Island this month. Te international painter will be exhibiting his work
at Seaview Art Gallery, to mark their third birthday. Creating pieces from his studio in the Cotswold, he is
renowned for a philosophy of simplification. Te show - titled Te Sublime - will feature a mix of Jeremy’s exquisite flamingo oil paintings and stunning maritime watercolours. Explaining his love for the graceful wading birds, he said: “I have yet to find any other natural phenomenon which offers such a kaleidoscope of creative choices. “Tese beautiful creatures have given me thousands
of hours of inspiration in front of many a canvas.” So indebted to the endangered birds is Jeremy he is
currently trying to raise one million rand for the Save Te Flamingo charity. Jeremy has been heralded as one of the country’s most
exciting emerging artists thanks to his large canvases, big brushes and lashings of oil paint. He has painted the Queen, was London Fashion
Week’s official artist and two of his paintings are now in the Royal collection. Te cheeky artist raised a few eyebrows when he painted the Queen’s bodyguard - standing at the St James’s Palace urinals.
