fashion & beauty A Case of Style by Dee Becker
We’ve all heard of the perfect ‘Capsule Wardrobe’ and marvelled at the way some people appear to pull together a myriad of effortless looks out of a teeny tiny bag. And, on top of all that, they tell you that they ‘Just pulled it out and put it straight on’ - no travel irons for them! But how do they take the stressing out of dressing?
ONE - It’s about choosing the right key pieces that can be interchanged with each other. A simple tip is to pack more tops than bottoms. Tis
will give you more flexibility to create different looks. A selection of co-ordinating accessories will also help
you to transform an outfit from casual daywear to smart eveningwear in an instant. A well thought out capsule wardrobe can help you look
stylish, chic, well dressed and confident for any occasion. It can also save time, money and frustration - and hours in front of the mirror thinking: “I’ve got cupboards full of clothes but nothing to wear!” Simply find versatile pieces that work for you; defining your style and flattering your body shape.
TWO - It’s all in the packing! Tat is, the way everything is folded and what is packed where in the bag. A great idea is tissue! It weighs nothing but it’s worth its weight in gold! A layer of tissue paper in your folded clothes really will minimise creasing. Pack toiletries inside plastic bags and at the bottom
of your bag. Tis will avoid any spillages ruining your carefully chosen wardrobe and prevent clothes being too squashed with the weight. Stuff shoes with socks, briefs, swimwear or even
accessories like scarves and belts. Tis will make good use of otherwise wasted space.
THREE - Finally, if there is anything in your bag that doesn’t co-ordinate with the rest - leave it behind!
