STYLE of Wight tastes the high-life - 10,900 feet up a Swiss mountain. Avid reader Katie Freemantle recently took her favourite magazine while skiing. She sent us this snap from the summit of Mont Fort, near Verbier. Mark, from Cowes, was inspired by Katie and took the magazine to Cuba. If you’re heading on holiday don’t forget to pack
Style of Wight in your case. Ten send us a picture of you reading it at some interesting or exotic location. We’ll publish the best photo’s - and might even send out a prize for the most original. Lucky Mark has won himself a pair of Original Havalanas Flip Flops courtesy of Generation Clothing.

THIS edition we launch a new section in conjunction with Isle of Wight Credit Union. Te financial co-operative will be on hand to offer tips and answer any questions you may have. Tey offer a full range of services including flexible ways to save, from as little £1 per week.
Credit Unions aim to help you take control of your money by encouraging you to to save what you can.
Credit Unions are small non-profit financial organisations set up by people with something in common, to benefit their community. Tat common factor may be living in the same town or working in the same industry. Roughly 500 credit unions have been set up in the UK to offer loans, savings and current accounts to their members, and roughly half a million Brits are members with £135m of Savings and £130m Loans. What are they for? Tey’re there to provide a financial community, where its members mutually benefit…as there’s no profit for third party shareholders. Tey help those who can’t get access to ordinary bank products; a lifeline in less well-off communities for folks grappling with their finances. Tey’re a welcome alternative to payday loans or doorstep lending. What services do they offer? Te primary functions are savings and borrowing. Te Isle of Wight Credit Union provides its members with an affordable, viable and inclusive alternative to mainstream financial services i.e. a simple way to save and an affordable way to borrow. Although we are a local Credit Union, run and managed by people committed to a better Island economy, we are affiliated to the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL) - a national trade association. Te Isle of Wight Credit Union opened for business in February 1998 and since 2007 has operated from purpose-designed premises in the centre of Newport.
