YOUR INSPIRATION? Definitely King’s Road in the capital. Tere is so much design and innovation there, with so many wonderful boutiques and designers. I used to love shopping around those colourful streets, I always felt fully absorbed by it all. It caters for so many needs for those who have style and sophistication. King’s Road is so influential and you feel like you want to make an effort with your appearance and well being. It makes you want to make the best of your home. I wanted to capture and recreate some of that style on the Island with Bouchic. But I didn’t want it to come with the same price tag as you would find in King’s Road.

TYPICAL CUSTOMER? Someone who is stylish with a unique fashion sense and is not necessarily dictated to by the current fashion trends. We appeal to customers who want to find something unusual and unique, not something you would find in a commercial, high street shop. Te clothes are unlikely to be worn by someone else at the same party for example Although you would need some sort of budget to shop at Bouchic it will certainly not break the bank. I’, often told that the prices are very reasonable and affordable for the quality and style that you would be getting.
WHAT IS STYLE? Something which embodies somebody’s personality whether it be decorating their house or a new outfit.

Somebody who cares about their appearance and someone who is creative and confident enough to know what suits them and to know that it works. I also think smart, sophistication, elegance, someone who is well coordinated with their choice of colours and compositions. I love people who are not afraid to mix colours and styles together and to know that it really works as a look. Our Spring/Summer Collection sums it up, it’s timeless yet fun. It’s all about taking vintage and classic pieces and giving them a modern spin by popping them with color or adding an extra layer of complexity. Tis creates a powerful and memorable look that will never date.
furnishings to beautiful ladies clothing and accessories. Skin care, make-up, wedding pressies and decorative gifts also grace shelves. Barbra was inspired by shopping trips around London’s fashionable epicentre. She tells us why following the latest fashion fads means taking a step back in style.
STYLE OF WIGHT? Depending on the occasion the style on the Island is generally quite laid back. Being surrounded by water some obviously like to go for the yachting look. Others just enjoy being comfortable and casual. However, there are many people who do take care of their appearance. Tey like to be up to date with the fashion trends and are well dressed and groomed.
MONEY EQUALS STYLE? It is possible to achieve style without it being at unachieveable costs. You can mix and match an outfit and make do with an item you already have. Why not take pair of favourite jeans and buy a new top to dress the outfit up? You can easily turn this into an evening look with a few accessories and a pair of high heels.
FASHION FAUX PAS? My worst style mistake would have to have been when I was younger and had permed hair. Arghhhh! It really didn’t suit me and was unflattering. It made me feel very untidy. Never, ever again!
COUNTRY CHIC? Te most stylish place I have ever visited would have to be Rome. Everyone there is so well groomed and dressed. Tey seem to have a natural flair for style and elegance. Te city itself is beautiful and full of history. It has a very romantic feel to it.
