Attractive Alpina slates at Canada Lodge Cembrit’s Alpina natural slates have been used to great effect in the creation of Canada Lodge, a lakeside wedding and events venue in Wales. The graphite tones of Alpina provide an attractive roof, which perfectly complements the stone building and the stunning surroundings. “We have worked with Cembrit for many years so I was well aware of the comprehensive
range and quality of their natural slates,” says Paul Ford of Cardiff Roofing who managed the supply and delivery of the Alpina slates. “We recommended Alpina as it had the right look and it also ticked all the performance boxes: being close to the Canada Lake and at the risk of inclement weather, we wanted a slate that could stand up to the conditions. I’m delighted with our choice as the finished project looks stunning.”

‘Indestructible’ Hambleside rooflights The original installation of Hambleside Danelaw GRP insulated rooflights on a warehouse badly damaged in the 2005 Buncefield oil refinery disaster not only survived the explosion intact but has been retained on the refurbished building. The extensive refurbishment required partial demolition and a major re-cladding by CA Group, but CA found that most of the Hambleside rooflights were in a more than satisfactory
