We have quite a busy edition this month as May has lots to offer in terms of awareness days, but they get more and more bizarre. Who dreamt this one up….??? “Be nice to Nettles week.” We kid you not. The Month of May also sees British Butty Week, so you have a chance to vote for your favourite Butty Shop in our feature on page 24. You might even win our prize of Jamie Oliver’s best selling cookbook.. There’s still time to get involved with the Rotary club’s Pendle Pub Walk on 18th June, but the day is proving more popular than ever in support of Pendleside Hospice. The word is, get registered PDQ. See pages 18,19,20. Our mystery pub quiz seems to be going down well, so we’ve got another on page 28. Do you remember the old fashioned sweets?
