The 27th Annual Classic Car Show at Towneley Park. Since the last Show, the members of Pendle and District Rover Association (P&DRA) have decided that they no longer have the manpower to sustain the effort of putting on the show, however they will be assisting their long time partner in the Show, The Rotary Club of Burnley, to put on this years show with the proceeds going to charity. Clearly the P&DRA have put in a magnificent effort sustaining the Show over 26 years and are to be congratulated. Whilst maintaining the core of the Show as before, Burnley Rotary hope to reinvigorate the next show by bringing in new attractions, which we will announce in our next issues. If you wish to show your classic vehicle you can enter via their website
www.towneleyclassiccarshow.org The show will be running from about midday on Sunday 3rd July with prize giving by the Mayor of Burnley at about 4pm It should be a vibrant show with plenty of attractions for all the family and we look forward to welcoming you to a superb day out with several catering outlets on site. And whilst you are at the show why not visit historic Towneley Hall, site of TV’s recent ‘Antiques Master’?

...and a shot of tequila.
Everyone is in such a hurry to scream 'racism' these days. A customer asked, "In what aisle could I find the Irish sausage?"
The clerk asks, "Are you Irish?"
The guy, clearly offended, says, "Yes I am. But let me ask you something. “If I had asked for Italian sausage, would you ask me if I was Italian? Or if I had asked for German Bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a Taco, would you ask if I was Mexican? Or if I asked for Polish sausage, would you ask if I was Polish?" The clerk says, "No, I probably wouldn't." The guy says, "Well then, because I asked for Irish sausage, why did you ask me if I'm Irish?" The clerk replied, "Because you're in Halfords."
Whoever coined the phrase "Quiet as a mouse" Has obviously never stepped on one.
