HEREFORD UNITED

12. Dan Connor - After a lengthy spell in Irish football, the 29 year old keeper returned to England having featured at Peterborough United between 1998 and 2003. After playing games for the Posh he returned to his native Republic of Ireland, playing first for Waterford and then Drogheda United, for whom he helped win the FAI Cup in 2005 and League Of Ireland title in 2007. In January 2009 he moved to Cork City and later featured for St Patricks Athletic before being signed as backup to Adam Bartlett in the summer.

14. James McQuilkin - The 21 year old midfielder is now in his second season at Edgar Street, having started at West Bromwich Albion as a youngster before moving to Czech side FC Tescoma Zelin, where he played 14 times for in 2008-09 before returning to England and signing for The Bulls. After making his Football League debut in their first game of the season against Cheltenham Town, he went on to be one of the star performers for the club throughout the campaign, and he is now a regular in the Northern Ireland U21 squad and is tipped for a full call-up in the near future.

15. Sam Gwynne - A product of the Hereford United youth team, the midfielder is capable of playing in either the centre or wide right. Having been at the club since the age of 16, he made his debut in the 2005-06 season against Stevenage but had to wait until August 2007 to make his first Football League appearance. He returned to Crewe on loan in February 2008 until the end of that season, but had to wait a further season before being released and a month later he signed a one-year contract with Hereford, for whom he has made over 50 appearances in the middle of the park.

17. Joe Colbeck - Noted as a pacey right winger, the 23 year old arrived in the summer from Oldham Athletic after spending just a single season at Boundary Park. He rose through the junior ranks at Bradford City and made his first team debut against Notts County in August 2004. The 2005-06 season saw Colbeck establish himself in the team and eventually made 109 appearances for The Bantams before leaving for Oldham in 2009. He also had a loan spell at Darlington in 2007.

The 26 year had a spell at Espanyol B before arriving at Swansea as one of Roberto Martinez’s first signings, and became a firm fans favourite at the Liberty Stadium when he scored twice against Gillingham in April 2008 to secure promotion to the Championship for the Swans. However he found first-team opportunities limited last season and was released at the end of the season.
