NATHAN RING FROM THE PHYSIO • NATHAN RING

Good evening everyone I hope you are all well. I’m sure both sets of supporters have been really looking forward to this fixture tonight. Luckily we haven’t picked up any major problems following Saturday’s game against Southend United. One or two players have slight issues, but if we

come through the match tonight unscathed then the treatment room should look a lot emptier the following week.

Exodus was missing on Saturday due to a medial ligament injury to his knee which he sustained against Stevenage towards the end of the match. The knee has improved over the weekend and we are hopeful he will be fit, if not tonight, then for our next fixture against Accrington Stanley on December 4th. Working at Shrewsbury Town FC I am very fortunate to work for a Chairman and Manager who fully

supports the medical department, as a League 2 football club we have good resources and excellent members of staff who help the medical side of the club run efficiently. Jim Wentel is the club doctor and is supported by Bob Wilson, who has a long association with the football club. This is Jim’s second season involved with the football club and he combines this with his general practice work in Much Wenlock. Working alongside me with the first team is Danielle Hinves a Sports Therapist, who is in her second season with the 1st team. Chris Skitt covers the youth team and with myself covers the reserve team games and helps oversee the centre of excellence. The centre of excellence medical staff is headed up by Chris Godwin who works with a team of sports therapists and physiotherapist’s to look after the under 9’s to under 16’s, Wayne Peter, Steven Huckstep, Jennifer Rodgers and Angus Harvey-Smith. A big thankyou to all those staff of the above for their efforts so far this season.
