Mud, mud, glorious MUD

Can’t go under it; can’t go over it; can’t go around it; gotta go through it… Like gettin’ dirty? Like, really squishin’-

between-your-toes filthy? Get ready for mud season in the countryside.

Bring your buddies; bring your family. Bring a change of clothes. And whether you go to watch or to race, or both, bring your sense of adventure. Of course, if you’d rather not get quite as

ones: At North Augusta, Wheels A Churnin’ Mud

Drags will hold three weekend events: June 4/5; July 23/24; Sept. 24/25. Gates open at 7 a.m. and registration begins

at 9 a.m. The ATV mud drags start at 11 a.m. All other races begin sharp at 12 noon. General admission is $20 daily, but children 12 and under can get in for free. If you want to camp, it’ll cost

a.m. April 30 at the Double S Sports & Marina, 9637 Hwy. 509. Volunteer firefighters will be on hand as guides. Later, from 4 to 7 p.m., there will be a dinner and prizes at the Ompah Community Hall.

This, too, is a non-profit event. Denis Bedard and his wife, Rose Boivin,

started the event five or six years ago, and it’s been going strong ever since. It has grown so
