The Canadian event- ing team stands on the podium at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY for the first time since 1978. Team members Kyle Carter (Madison Park), Hawley Bennett-Awad (Gin & Juice), Selena O’Hanlon (Colombo) and Stephanie Rhodes Bosch (Port Authority), stood proud wearing their team silver medals as the Canadian flag rose at the awards cer- emony. Selena O’Hanlon claimed that David “not only helps us with our rid- ing but gets us mentally prepared as well”.

Competing in her first ever World Championships 22 year old Stephanie Rhodes Bosch adds that David “has taught me everything, I wouldn’t be here without him”. I would have never expected to have a medal here let alone be asked to be on the team”. Stephanie rode her twelve year old thor- oughbred gelding Port Authority to finish as the top Canadian in ninth place indi- vidually. “I was happy with the plan we had and my horse is such a plea- sure to ride that he makes it

Great Britain came up from twelfth after dressage going clean cross country and show jumping on his 10 year old gelding Cool Mountain adding an individual sil- ver medal to his team gold.
Andrew Nicholson of New Zealand on Nereo came up from fourteenth position after dressage earning him double bronze status for both individual and team.
This performance at the games quali- fies Canada for the upcoming Olympics in London and with their success they hope more people like owners Michael and Elaine Davies (Columbo) and Caroline Bazley, ( Riddle Master) will step up to the plate to create a base of horses for the Canadian eventers allowing them to gain even greater world status in the future.

David’s positive reinforce- ment combined with pro- grams that seem to be working give the Canadian eventers the competitive edge they need for a World class event.
