Guinness World Records set at the 15th anniversary Sony Ericsson B-Boy Championships World Finals

-B-Boy Cico wins hands down-

Power move super star B-Boy Cico set a Guinness World Records for the most

consecutive aerials performed in a break-dancing style at the Sony Ericsson B-Boy

Championships World Finals last night.

In front of a sell-out 8,000 strong crowd and with Guinness World Records officiating, Cico (real name Mauro Peruzzi) achieved 6 aerials to become the new record holder. The attempt took place on stage at the 02 Academy Brixton, where some of the world’s best dancers from around the globe went head to head to battle it out in a bid to win the coveted title of Sony Ericsson World Champions.

The competition, which is the most prestigious and high calibre break-dance event of the year, saw the world’s best poppers, lockers, B-Girls and B-Boys come together after a

five-month search. Following seven international

eliminations, elite crews from USA, Russia, Brazil, Japan, France, Holland and Europe came together for one weekend only to take part in the 15th anniversary of the ultimate B-Boy competition. Joining them were the UK’s reigning national champions, Soul Mavericks, an eight-strong team hailing from London who represented Great Britain in this year’s battle.

Vagabonds from France went onto win and be crowned Sony Ericsson World Champions. For any that missed all the action, Channel 4 will be airing a six-part series, ‘Sony Ericsson World B-Boy Series’ from Sunday, 7th November that reveals the trials and tribulations of the world’s greatest breakers, poppers & lockers in the lead-up to the Sony Ericsson B-Boy Championships World Finals.

In keeping with the big beats, style and flair of B-Boy, winners took home the latest crew-member in the Sony Ericsson’s Xperia(tm) family - the X10 Mini - the smallest
