AWARDS COMMITTEE Do you have some ideas on how a Canadian Ultimate Hall of Fame should be
structured? Are you interested in selecting award winners for national programs and developing new awards? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then the new Ultimate Canada awards committee may be an opportunity that interests you.
PURPOSE To determine who receives awards and
innovation grants from Ultimate Canada. Committee Responsibilities • Meet as required to discuss award and grant applications. It is estimated that there will be 3 meetings per year.
• Review Ultimate Canada innovation grant applications and select winners • Review Ultimate Canada award
AWARDS INFO Applications for the 2010 Ultimate Canada awards program are now available.
INTRODUCTION In order to recognize the achievements of individuals from across the country Ultimate Canada operates an awards program. In 2010, the 4 awards are: coach of the year, male athlete of the year, female athlete of the year, and the Spirit of the Game award.
CRITERIA AND ELIGIBILITY In order to be eligible for any of the Ultimate Canada awards, individuals must be either an Ultimate Canada competitive member or an Ultimate Canada grassroots member through an affiliation with an Ultimate Canada partner league or PSO.
DEADLINE TO APPLY Application Deadline is Monday, November 8th, 2010. All Nomination Forms should be sent to

COACH OF THE YEAR Do you know a coach that has made a huge difference in promoting Ultimate? Have they had a large impact on the development of players? Have they helped a team reach new heights? Well if you do, consider nominating the coach for the Ultimate Canada coach of the year award. Nomination Form In choosing the 2010 coach of the
year, the awards selection committee will consider the following criteria: - Accomplishments in 2010 - Development of players

• Develop proposals for new awards and recognition programs
• Develop selection criteria for awards • Committee Composition • 6 regional representatives. 1 rep per Ultimate Canada region.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR Do you know a female athlete that has achieved great success in Ultimate? Has she helped a team reach new heights and improved the players around her? Has she contributed to the development of Ultimate in Canada? Well if you know someone that fits these criteria consider nominating her for the Ultimate Canada female athlete of the year award. SPIRIT OF THE GAME AWARD Spirit of the Game is at the heart of Ultimate. In recognition of the importance of Spirit of the Game to Ultimate, Ultimate Canada would like to recognize individuals that have promoted Spirit of the Game in their community. Spirit of the Game takes many forms and can be seen both on and off the field. Some example activities include: Supporting fair play in the community by acting as a mentor, organizing tournaments or events that encourage spirited play, developing bridges between the Ultimate community and other groups through spirited interactions and mutual respect. Nomination Form In choosing the recipient of the 2010
Spirit of the Game Award, the awards selection committee will consider the following criteria: - Accomplishments in 2010 - Supporting the development of Spirit of the Game in Canada - Past accomplishments

TERMS
Members will each have a 2-year term. The initial committee will have half of the membership have a 1-year term.
