What does “Spirit of the Game” mean

to you? Playing fair and following the golden rule…..and realizing that karma will haunt you.

What is your favourite Ultimate moment? CUC 2008, during a game there was a disc thrown into an end zone and myself and three other guys dove for the disc and I came up with it to score a huge game turning point.

NAME: MARCUS FUNG Home Town: Vancouver, BC Position: D-line Handler Team: Mischief Years Played: 3 Photo by: GY Photographes If you could be coached by anyone who would it be and why? Jon Hayduk! He coached the national champions. He must be doing something right!

What does “Spirit of the Game” mean

to you? Spirit of the game to me represents how much you love the sport of Ultimate, its how much fun you have playing the sport and playing with your teammates, its how loud you cheer on the sidelines, its the high fives/fist bumps you give before, during, and after a game. It’s how much passion/effort you demonstrate on and off the field, its the amount of work you put in to go and get that sick layout D or get that huge layout point, And while your doing all the above mentioned things, you follow the rules and respect your opponents. That is what the “Spirit of the Game” means to me. Siick Life.

NAME: KATIE SCARTH Home Town: Winnipeg Team: MOFO Position: o-line cutter Years Played: 5 Who is your most influential Ultimate

player and why? This past summer especially, Dan Byma has really influenced me by being my coach on both MOFO and Team Canada. Coaches usually have the most influence on me and all of the extra work he puts into helping his players do well really influenced me to put all my efforts into playing my best. What does “Spirit of the Game” mean

to you? To me, Spirit of the Game is how a player acts in Ultimate in terms of sportsmanship. Good spirit to me means that the player is always sportsmanlike whether it’s during a game, on a call, or after a game, no matter if it’s a win or loss. What is your favourite Ultimate moment? Playing with Team Canada for the first time at WJUC. It was such a great feeling to finally be playing at Worlds with such an amazing and talented team after so much anticipation!
