ones? Which from the veterans.... And why to both. That is easy. I think we will all say the same guy. Kielan Way from Phoenix. He is quite the athlete, makes big plays on O and D and, in my opinion, should be a lock for Team Canada Open in 2012. I would also like to mention Mark Loyd who plays for G Strike and GOAT. As far as the veterans go, John Hassell in Toronto is okay I guess. Everyone knows how solid he is and as far as I am concerened he and MG are the top of Canadian Ultimate.

27. Which female player really impresses you with her game, and why? Many, but Alison Walker is one that gets my vote. She belongs in open.

28. Will you retire to masters men, or co-ed?....Or is the ladder co-ed, then masters? I will retire from open.

29. How much does training play into your game? Do you just practice with the team, or do you train outside of the Ultimate team practices? Training is coming into effect more and more. I need to just to keep up with the up and coming talent. For the most part, this off season I have been in the gym four times a week.

30. What about nutrition? Eating what you want, or eating responsibly? I generaly eat healthy and responsibly but I do not follow any strict nutrition plan.

31. What really irks you about the sport? (Ie. No refs, or cheating calls?) Honestly, not having refs does not bother me all that much. It did when I started but now I am used to it. Cheating happens in every sport so again, I am used to it and expect it. I have nothing to complain about here.

32. What do you love the most about the sport? I love the competition. It is what drives me to keep playing. The fact that the sport is becoming more competitive and better athletes are playing the game now is amazing. Having the chance to represent your country and win for your country is an unreplaceable feeling as well.

1. What’s your age? 35 – masters age, but I still feel young!

2. What age were you when you started playing Ultimate? – started playing competitively at 32 – had played the odd pickup tournament or occasional league game for a year or so before that.

3. How did you hear of the sport, who introduced you? From my brothers – I guess Bill signed me up for a league team and also got me on a co-ed team for UPA Fall Series in 2006 – that was my real introduction to the sport – enough to realize that I wanted to play at a higher level.

4. Who started playing first of the four of you? As Derek said – it was Bill.

5. What sports had you played before Ultimate? I have always played competitive sports – baseball, rugby, basketball, volleyball, x-country running, tennis, badminton, soccer – you name it, I played it.

6. How long have you (4) now been playing together on the same team? Off and on for the past three seasons

7. Are you aware that you four could be the first in the history of the sport to all be playing at the premier level, on one team? Whatcha think of that? Never put much thought into that to be honest. My focus as a player is always just to play and WIN at the highest level possible. It is definitely an added bonus to have the opportunity to pursue those goals with my brothers at my side.

8. Do you have a nickname, if so... What is it, and why? The one that has stuck is, “The Patriarch”. One of our teammates, Luke Phelan came up with that one. I guess it’s in recognition of the fact that I am an anomaly on the team in that I am older than most, have 3 younger brothers on the team and 4 children at home as well. I may also have a bit of a reputation for taking charge and keeping everyone in line when things start getting a bit haywire as well….

9. What’s your best strength in the game? I’m not really a skilled player – any impact I am able to make is a result of my ability to work hard on the field and my willingness to compete. I believe I am a fierce competitor and pride myself on never quitting on a play, situation or game. Most people don’t really enjoy playing against me
