NAME: NICK BOUCHER Home Town: Ottawa Team: RessureXion Position: O-line cutter Years Played: 3 Photo by: Andrew Leach Who is your most influential Ultimate player and why?
My most influential Ultimate player would be my coach Mike Wronski. He has been my coach for both years that I have played competitive Ultimate. He has taught me everything I know about Ultimate. I would not be nearly as close to as good as I am if I had not had Wronski as my coach. What is your pre-game pump up song?
Lose yourself- Eminem, Drop the world- Lil Wayne ft. Eminem What is your favourite Ultimate moment? Winning the silver medal with Team Canada juniors in Heilbronn 2010.
NAME: SAMUEL DUBÉ Home Town: Sherbrooke Team: Voodoo Position: O-line cutter Years Played: 2 Photo by: Jon Hines If you could be coached by anyone
who would it be and why? I would like to be coached by Marie- France Hivert, my actual coach, because she does such an amazing job and she is a really good Ultimate player. What does “Spirit of the Game” mean
to you? Well I think that the spirit of Ultimate should be an example for other sports. It’s amazing! The players of the other teams are friends off the playing field and on the field they are opponents just like in every sport.
What is your favourite Ultimate moment? My favourite Ultimate moment was at CUC 2010 in Sherbrooke. It was my first CUC and it was amazing. The games were really hard but they were really fun as well. And all the players were so cool! I hope that I will play in many more CUCs in different locations around Canada!
NAME: MEGAN LEONG Home Town: Vancouver Team: Misfit Position: D-line/O-line cutter Years Played: 2 and a half Photo by: Gurm Pandher If you could be coached by anyone who would it be and why? It would have to be Nick Menzies. I have been coached by him and everything from his rubber boots to his pep talks were great! He’s also an amazing player and I’m sure benefits his team just as much as he does coaching. What is your favourite Ultimate moment? Probably my favourite Ultimate moment was during the last game at my first CUC’s in August. It was our last game of the season and we decided to mix it up a bit. They decided to put me, the smallest player on our team as the Rover in FSU...I must’ve given them the most shocked look ever after they called line but it was all in fun. We got into our positions on D and I felt so lost and felt like there must’ve been 8 people yelling at me to move in different directions and pick up different players. I was probably out of position at the time but layed out for a dump cut and got the D! The field was terrible and I landed oddly but the shock overrided the pain and it felt pretty awesome.
