Upminster. The walk was another most enjoyable event and I am still feeling the benefit from all that slogging through the beauti- ful Belhus Park and the surround- ing countryside. It was difficult to realize at times that we were so close to the M25. (At other times of course we were crossing it!)

A Christmas Message from your President.

M

y, how time flies when you are enjoying yourself. I find

it hard to realise that by the time you are reading this I will have al- most completed half my time as your President. Friday June 27th, the night when PP Margareta hung the President‘s insignia around my neck, seems like only yesterday. A

s 2008 draws to a close I would like to take this oppor-

tunity to thank the members of the Rotary Club of Hornchurch and Upminster for their support and friendship in this my presi- dential year. My special thanks go to Geoff who ably guides me through the meetings, SVP Brian who has been ‗me‘ on a number of occasions and PP Margareta for agreeing to do the year book for me. Thanks too to the club of- ficers who have done so much to continue the good work of our club. It is all very well having good ideas for raising money and supporting the community but without the support of our mem- bers throughout the year these ideas would come to nothing. So once again THANK YOU and the wives ,husbands and families who allow you to spend so much time away from them.

F

inally on behalf of Pratibha and Myself I would like to

wish you all a Joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year.
